My name is Cal Ormond. I am 15 and I used to go to Richmond high. I’m sure you’ve heard about me from TV and the papers. Forget it all, nothing they’re saying about me is true. I am innocent.
I love my little sister Gabbi and would never do anything to hurt her. I did not attack my uncle, Rafe. I have no reason to hurt him. I walked into my house last month and found both of them unconscious. I ran to Gabbi and gave her CPR until she was breathing again. I never thought I’d ever have to do CPR for real. I was being chased, so I had to run as soon as the ambulance and police turned up.
Can you imagine finding your little brother or sister unconscious on the floor? It was the worst thing I’ve ever seen, and lately I’ve seen a lot. Now she’s in a coma and I can’t even visit her and tell her it’s going to be okay..
Ever since my dad died last year, heaps of bad things have happened to me. My uncle and I nearly drowned in Treachery Bay, because our fishing boat had been sabotaged. Our house was trashed, and then there were the violent attacks on Gabbi and Rafe. My family is being targeted and I don’t know why. It’s not just the cops who are after me, but it’s not safe for me, or my family, if I say any more than that.
I’m on the run and everyone thinks on the bad guy. I am not a dangerous person and I did not hurt my uncle or my sister. Please believe me. I need people on my side. All I want to do is clear my name and stay alive so that I can look after my family. That’s all I want. Please, if you know anything at all that might help my case, contact me here before it’s too late.

I am a 33-year-old teacher and I can easily say that these books really brought back my love of reading. I love that each book left me wanting more! I can’t wait until January when I let my students begin to check them out. We plan to hold a book club at the end of each month with those students who have read the book to share our predictions. BEST series I have ever read!
